Global music competition
At Prospect 100, we are creating opportunities for young people everywhere to grow and flourish. We established our first competition during the COVID-19 pandemic to create a community of the world's most talented young people, despite global lockdowns. Our competitions are free to enter, and are open to those aged 25 or younger, anywhere in the world.
2020’s Global Music Competition was our first ever competition and saw thousands of entries from 44 different countries flooding in. Our judging panel covered a wide range of genres and saw nations from all across the world represented by their leading musical talents from the UK and USA to Israel, Brazil and Antigua. Our winner went on to receive mentorship from head judge Guy Holmes, who previously managed artists like Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder. Our 4 other finalists received mentorships from managers who represent artists such as Migos, Lil Mosey, Black Eyed Peas and Tyga. All participants were offered software from Ditto to ensure that they could upload music independently to all major streaming platforms and we conducted live interviews for all applicants to view and participate in which were held with figures like Ronnie Wood, Au/Ra, Dan Rothman and more.
"I think it is extremely important and valuable for opportunities such as P100 to exist for young creatives. Firstly, it encourages and inspires young people who may not have been into a creative art to get out of their comfort zone and be creative. But for already creative people, such as myself, it encourages them to be more openly creative, and proud of whatever they have produced. As someone who won one of P100's competitions, it has given me a feeling of self worth and confidence in my work, as before I would always question 'am i actually good at this?". Furthermore, P100 has the ability to provide a gateway into so many creative industries, which I think is amazing! After winning the music competition, I was offered a mentorship from Guy Holmes, who as you know is very experienced in the music industry. He gave me a massive insight into how things work in that space, and what I needed to improve on and do to assist myself to break into it! Without P100 I don't think i would a) have the confidence in my music that I do now and b) have the knowledge I have about creating and promoting music!"
